Missionaries to Alaska
Missions is a vital part of Dayspring, these are some of the ongoing missions and missionaries that we support! Please consider praying and/or supporting these missionaries. Many of the missionaries have websites, be sure to visit those sites to see what God is doing through these missionaries!
The Ganeys arrived in Alaska in August of 1990. Their first assignment was to the Inupiat Eskimo village of Unalakleet on the west coast. While serving in this village of about 750 people, Odis built a church and parsonage to house his family. Over the next five years Odis' building talents were put to use in six other villages. After a brief furlough in 1995-96, the Ganeys began their next assignment in the Tlingit Indian village of Klukwan in southeast Alaska. While serving as missionary pastor to this village, Odis traveled throughout Alaska working on building projects. In April of 2000, his assignment was changed to Director of Church Construction and Assessment. The Ganeys then moved into Anchorage where they reside today. Since beginning ministry in Alaska in 1990, Odis and Debby have ministered in over sixty sites throughout the state. Odis has constructed eleven new facilities and continually travels across Alaska assessing the needs of churches and providing the assistance they require. The Ganeys have taken hundreds of volunteer teams from churches in the Lower 48 with them into the villages for ministry. While working on facility needs, they often minister through revivals, kids crusades and youth outreaches. http://forgetmenotministries.us/
For almost 30 years the Moore’s have served in pastoral ministry in the United States before going as Assembly of God missionaries to Belize ten years ago. For the last 12 years of their ministry in the Houston, Texas area, the church grew from 26 to over 400members. In Belize, Tom has served as the Field Moderator and also on the Executive Committee. They are involved in several areas of ministry but their main focus is Latin America Child Care and mentoring pastors. Latin America Child Care is a student sponsorship program that partners with Assembly of God schools to help poor children stay in school and assists with various needs of the child. Their goal in this is to see that children receive a good education and at the same time have the opportunity to receive Christ as Savior. Most of their time is dedicated to mentoring and training pastors. This is accomplished through national and district seminars as well as one on one time with pastors where they live. With the Moore’s pastoral experience they are able to assist pastors in everything from leadership and church growth to sermon preparation. Because many pastors live in isolated villages with few resources, this better equips these pastors to make their ministries more productive. Tom & Kathi Moore have two sons. Our oldest son Ryan and his wife Laci, are appointed Assembly of God missionaries. He is the Director of Builders International, which is the construction arm of the World Missions Department and coordinates all MAPS Construction teams worldwide. They have two children, Lynzi and Asher. The youngest son Nate and his wife Sarah, are the first Assembly of God Home Missionaries appointed to reaching the rock climbing community in their unique culture.
