Dayspring is a non-denominational Church that is also listed as a Cooperating Assembly with the General Council of the Assemblies of God. We believe the whole Bible is inspired of God and therefore, what the Bible declares to be authoritative for what we believe and how we act is completely true. While our beliefs are consistent with the 16 Fundamentals of the Assemblies of God, we hold to them as they are in accordance with the truth of Scripture. Our beliefs are as follows:
We believe that the Holy Scriptures are the inerrant, infallible, inspired Word of God! The scriptures have supreme authority in a believer's life. The Bible is God's revelation as recorded by His servants when the Holy Spirit moved upon them. 2 Timothy 3:15-17 ; 1 Thessalonians 2:13 ; 2 Peter 1:21
We believe in one triune God. God is eternally existent in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 6:4 ; Matthew 28:19-20 ; Isaiah 43:10-11 ; Luke 3:22
We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. Born of a virgin, Jesus was fully God and fully man, who took upon Him the burden of our faults as He walked among us in the flesh; yet, was without sin. Jesus provided for the atonement of our sins by His substitutionary death on the cross. He was gloriously raised from the dead; ascended to Heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father, making intercession for us, until His glorious return. Matthew 1:23 ; Luke 1:31 ; Hebrews 7:26 ; 1 Peter 2:22 ; Acts 2:22 ; Acts 10:38 ; 1 Corinthians 15:3 ; 2 Corinthians 5:21 ; Matthew 28:6 ; Luke 24:39 ; 1 Corinthians 15:4 ; Acts 1:9 ; Acts 1:11 ; Acts 2:33 ; Philippians 2:9-11 ; Hebrews 1:3
We believe salvation is experienced when one accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. We repent from our sins and dead works and receive the forgiveness of sins by confessing with our mouth, believing in our heart and turning toward God in faith. This transformation is a free gift of love through faith and not by any works of the flesh. Luke 24:47 ; John 3:3 ; Romans 10: 9-15 ; Ephesians 2:8
We believe in baptism in water by complete immersion. It is a separate experience from salvation and is meant to be an outward expression of the believer's public renouncing of sin. This is a symbolic act of dying to one's flesh and rising in the newness of a sanctified life with Christ. This obedient act should be done soon after salvation. Matthew 28:19 ; Mark 16:16 ; Acts 10:47-48 ; Romans 6:4
We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the verbal evidence of speaking in other tongues, is a separate experience from salvation. This baptism should be considered a sacred progression of your personal walk with God. The Holy Spirit is given preeminence in a believer's life so God can accomplish His work through our partnership. Acts 2:4 ; Acts 10:44-46 ; Acts 11: 14-16 ; Acts 15:7-9 ; 1 Corinthians 12:4-10 ;
We believe in divine healing. This is healing and restoration of health that comes to any believer who receives and acts upon God's Word for healing. By the stripes that Jesus bore on the Cross, we have the complete authority to believe that His Word is true and we are healed in Jesus name! Isaiah 53:4-5 ; Matthew 8:16-17 ; James 5:14-16
We believe in the hope of the soon return of Jesus Christ to catch away His church and then return to earth to rule and reign for a thousand years! In keeping with His promise, we look forward to a new heaven and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness. Romans 8:28 ; 1 Thessalonians 4:12-18 : Titus 2:13 ; 1 Corinthians 15:50-58
